Louisiana Tech must slow Kansas'quick-strike offense
Thu, 04 Sep 2008 16:21:00 EST
Impressive as the Louisiana Tech defense may have been in its 22-14 win over Mississippi State last Saturday, it's in for a bigger challenge against Kansas. Kansas'offense will offer a much different look than the one Tech saw against MSU.

Leesville at West MonroeKickoff: 6 p.m., Saturday (KLIP 105.3-FM) Who/What to watch: LEESVILLE: Team is filled with experience on offense. QB Travante Stallworth has committed to Auburn and mans the spread with best target in WR Demetrius Mark. RB Michael Ford ?an LSU commit ?helps the Wampus Cats mix it up in the backfield. The defense, on the other hand, is fairly new with the only experience coming in safety Cassetti Brown, who has committed to Tech. WEST MONROE: All eyes are on QB D.J. Banks, but he will get plenty of help from RB LaDarius Abrams and WR Andrian Manning and WR Tyler Cain. Defensively, Barkevious Mingo has moved from LB to DB and should be outstanding while LB Blake Brassell also returns. Get in the Game: Because of the weather problems, Rebel fans will now get a peak at two Top 20 teams. West Monroe is No. 2 in 5A and Leesville is No. 4 in 4A.Prediction: West Monroe

LOGANSPORT: Wossman coach Vince Landrum is expecting a more athletic and mature team with a versatile quarterback that has a quality tailback and receivers to lean on. Get in the Game: Wossman defeated Logansport 41-15 in its home opener.Prediction: Wossman
